Do you think it's wise to get fallopian tubes tested?

My RE wants me to get an HSG test where they put dye in the tubes to see if they function. I have no known fertility issues - my bloodwork for hormones and ultrasound came back great. I feel funny about having to put fluids through those sensitive spaces just prior to trying to get pregnant, like it'll do more harm than good but he's insisting on it. Do you think I should go along?
